Everyone knew world’s largest retailer could help them save money. But what did it really mean to “live better” as their tagline proclaimed? English Major’s songs for Walmart, whether summer anthems or modern holiday carols, helped tell intimate stories that proved those words weren’t just marketing—they were core to the mission of the brand.

Two of the world’s biggest brands—and their ad agencies—came together for a co-branded holiday message. The brief? “Stock up on Joy.” English Major delivered a song celebrating the messy joy of the modern extended family, social network included. Happy brands, happy agencies, happy audience.

Credit scores are hard to understand and intimidating to boot. For Experian, English Major wrote several album’s worth of songs that, sung by a cast of lovable losers, simplified the subject—and became a pop-culture phenomenon that is still playing out on Fortnite memes.

It’s unjust but it’s true: even now, most Americans view hummus with suspicion. For this delicious brand, English Major LLC crafted a modular song that could be re-written for different audiences and media formats, making the case for the brand’s hummus in a highly targeted way.

Making Product Intros Fun

Why just talk about the features when you can sing about the benefits? English Major’s “Endless Fun” anthem song became a music platform for the brand, giving Comcast and The Martin Agency an approachable way to demonstrate a ton of product features.

Getting The Party Started

When you go on a Norwegian cruise, the party starts the second you walk on board. For their new ship Getaway, English Major wrote a radio-ready pop track that served as the ship’s theme song, playing every time Getaway set sail (and in the ship’s clubs, and on Miami radio). For the music video, the brand enlisted the ship’s Godmothers: the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders.
